Im not actually an atheist- I have mentioned that b4, but ur so taken up with ur JW rants that u havent noticed. Also..................Greek and Latin were the stuff of life at school, tho i aint sure why you big Greek up so much - it was boring as hell. You assume too much, in order to suit your offset views of things.... Quad erat demonstrandum.............. Well parousia is the Greek word for PRESENCE. Now most translations of the Bible have translated that Greek word to English COMING in the KJV for instance, so the modern day Christian religions think it means Jesus is COMING again like he did last time but no, they (christendom that is) do not even know how to peach about the "second coming" as they call it or what it actually is.
GREEK word parousia in Matt 24 verse 3. Its proper translation should be presence NOT coming. It is a very important chapter of the Bible because it talks about NOW. the bible is all about then, tho, innit?Neither do the JW's. 1889 - The 'battle of the great day of God Almighty' ... which will end in A.D. 1914 ... is already commenced. Apparently, sociologist Andrew Holden says that since the foundation of the movement around 140 years ago, "Witnesses have maintained that we are living on the precipice of the end of time"
They consider "human society" to be morally corrupt and under the influence of Satan, and most limit their social interaction with non-Witnesses(wiki), which of course limits their exposure to other ways of seeing things.- The two I met, gave me a Watchtower, but wouldnt accept a sheet of A4 on which I'd printed a poem about immortality, so I gave them back their Watchtower ,as I was afraid they were possessed by Satan..and that I'd become infected with Satan if I handled it.....

Hths well if u were a serious bible student, youd know enuf Greek and Latin to read those editions, and if you really had anything about you, youd know the Aramaic too! That way you'd avoid the trap of only knowing the latest translation of multiple previous translations thing.. Instead, you take the silly and convenient way out, by writing your own version, to make up for your lack of linguistic ability/ inclination. |

Nope, I have my mother and father to thank for that, that Jehovah person whom ever he/she is had nothing to do with it. I don’t know where you get those insane ideas from. Nefarious, is that some sort of religion I have never heard of, it’s nor surprising, there is that many different religions with different branches to them, it is nearly impossible to count them. One thing about Atheism there can only be the one, my wonderful life if you were referring to me was all my own doing, with the help of a wonderful sane wife too. Just saying. |

You keep preaching but can't answer any questions. This is not unusual. I have spent many hours talking to JW's on the street, on the doorstep and even had them in the house. Door-to-door 'salesmen, and leaders. Mostly the door-to-door can't answer any of the questions, or dispute what I have shown you. 'I'll have to ask so-and-so and get back to you. They never have. The most I have ever got from a leader was the acknowledgement that the Abraham story might be an allegory. You do reralise the book of Daniel is simply a mixture of stories and contains many errors for the time - religious, historical, etc. The second half is simply the recorded - at the time - history of the Maccabean Kingdom. The periods - days/weeks - mentioned fit in neatly with the story and the climax is the killing of the High Priest Onias II. No prophecy is intended. |
