I believe there are many Gods and I believe one supreme God made them all and us all and do not try to convince me otherwise. The hindus have the same idea- they have a god for everything and they all answer to Krishna... In fact, every company has the same structure, which was why I never wanted to have to work my way up through the ranks... Best always, to start at the top of the greasy pole, not the bottom! all things wise and wonderful- the lord god made them all ( all things bright and beautiful)

God is title like Mr is a title...All the invisible spirits are Gods.
People just conveniently use the inoffensive term God when talking about the Lord God.... except Jews. They will write G_d. They are extremely superstitious.
Actually I haven't heard "Lord God" mentioned on mainstream media in decades.
I suppose nutters in the USA write extreme complaints if anything "God" is mentioned on TV or in movies so now we are indundated with cross dressing women wannabees.

God from Gheu - to invoke, call upon. How far the idea of a supreme being goes back is unknown.
Man is known to have been on this earth around 200,000 years. When the idea of a 'god' appeared is not known but latest indications are for at least 30,000 years. Therianthropes - half human, half man - were been painted on cave walls around 30,000 years ago. We have no idea how far Egyptian history actually goes back. Indications are that it is much farther back than we already know. The early Egyptian gods are therianthropes - Horus, Bastet, Anubis, Thoth, set etc. (about 20) Asian 'gods' are from stories of ancient beings - often 'beings' from the sky.
The Jews do not write the word god. Neither do they use the full title for their other names. When the OT was written the Hebrew language had no written vowels, no chapters and no verses. Words were interpreted by the context of the sentence. EG. whether the man was wearing brown shirts or brown shorts would depend on the rest of the sentence. It wasn't until the early centuries of the Christian era that a group called Masorettes inserted vowels. At the same time they also gave the possible variation at the side of the passage. It's called the Masoretic Text. Chapters and verses were not added until the 13th century CE by a Catholic who, naturally, inserted chapters and verses according to church teaching. One reason we get so many wrong Christian/Islam interpretations of the OT. Isaiah,. for instance, is completely about Israel. Christianity uses chapter 53 as Jesus, the suffering servant. In the original the 4th suffering servant song starts earlier Chapter 52:13 in todays Bible.
I'm an atheist who once was a Christian preacher. I then studied the background to the Bible which disproves many of the Bible stories. I could go through some but leave it there.
